"Baby Teeth" is the debut EP from Minneapolis-based soul-pop artist Backpackers.

Mixing together various strains of 70s rock, soul and pop music while maintaining a keen ear for modern production flourishes, "Baby Teeth" has the bizarre feel of a long-lost small-press classic that was recorded yesterday. The breezy vintage pop of "Gospel" recalls Al Green or D'angelo, while the heavy grooves and dense production of "Insane" and "Wise Up" have a heavier, more modern feel comparable to the best or recent alt-R&B records.

Despite its many reference points, Backpackers have created something truly special with this EP; an easy to pick-up, impossible to put-down slice of well-crafted pop that feels all at once unique and familiar.
