"D||E" is the self-titled debut EP of D||E, a new group featuring three-fourths of the sorely missed kraut-pop masters Fire in the Northern Firs as well as studio proprietor Ali, also of Hollow Boys. Calling their music "Ghostly Motorik," the EP quickly establishes a swirling musical soup that draws equally from 70s cosmische, 60s garage, space rock and the alien sounds of three-way live shredding.

Recorded live as a three-piece, (with extra sound effects by now-bass player Shane) "D||E" skews more towards the almost meditatively simple aspects of the genres listed above, basking in the glory of pounding riffs ("Cobra Shoes") and brain-frying feedback over never-ending bass-and-drum-loops ("Drag Out") while continually reminding the listener that no druggy bliss-out is ever truly safe or out of reach of a feedback-spitting, tape-warped mental hellhole.

With the group currently barreling ahead, finishing up a new LP as a four-piece experimental juggernaut, they offer this EP as a warped statement of purpose and a taste of things to come.
