This is the tenth entry (ECSS10) in the "Ecstattic Singles" series.

"Busybody" is the new single from Heavy No-Wave purveyors Swimsuit Area. Following their debut Ep, Occupado, "Busybody" is simultaneously more ferociously focused and more weirdly experimental than what came before; grinding up pounding no-wave, shimmering pop, stoner-rock riffs and gloriously over-dramatic vocals and filtering said influences through the band's unabashedly weird instrumental setup (two basses, drums and violin, natch).

Like the oft-overlooked Bowie album "Lodger," (with its bizarre lyrics, patchwork-pop outlook and critical discourses on abuse and gender) Swimsuit Area's music is an experiment in cognitive dissonance and "Busybody" - along with its weirdly swinging b-side "Paperclip" - will alternately confuse and delight you until you can't take it anymore.
