"Pursuit Special" is the third EP by Minneapolis Motown Punks Blue Ruin. This release finds the band pushing the sound they established on their last, self-titled EP to exciting new places: opener "Lowdown" streamlines their first-gen punk influences into a propulsive churn, "Stay Home" stretches out into positively cosmic territory and the title track mixes in a groovy prog-rock feel to create a miniature epic. Needless to say, all of these are imbued with the bands skillful ear for the meldoies and affectations of classic rock and 60s pop.

The song and the EP are named after Mad Max's black V8 muscle car as a nod to the rapid pace of recording and the band's no-nonsense work ethic. With this EP, the combination of both has created something special.
